Drake and Debbie Gaetano have owned Headlines
Salon and Product Junkie Boutique for over 35
years. They work hard to provide a salon
experience that entices a customer to relax in a
friendly atmosphere and to browse the many
interesting items they offer in the areas of bath
and beauty products, make-up, clothing, and
jewelry. Their talent with hair styling, make-up
application, and customer service have set them
apart from their competition. Headlines Salon is
considered one of the best in the Syracuse, New
York market.
Drake and Debbie’s vision of the Product Junkie
program is a result of their desire to provide a
positive experience for young women to explore
the areas of entrepreneurship, business
operations, and building life skills. They saw a
need for young women to develop their own
sense of style in a constructive, wholesome
atmosphere and to be able to express their inner
beauty while learning to enhance their outer
beauty. This vision provides the fundamental
ideas for the PJ program.
From their oldest customer to their youngest
customer, Drake and Debbie Gaetano provide the
confidence their clients need to look and feel their
best.

Lotions and potions and bracelets, oh my! I guess
we all have our vices. Me? I love to shop. From eye-
catching eye shadow to sweetly-scented shampoo, I
wanted it all! But these things add up. And between
school and sports and hanging out with friends, I
never had time for shopping extravaganzas. I was
always left wondering … Mirror, mirror on the wall,
why can't I just have it all?
So take a look around my little palace. It’s a place
for girls like us to shop, meet, share ideas and do
business. In no time at all, you could be saying:

What advise do you have for New Craft Artists?
Know your market and competition, create the BEST possible pieces. THINK AS A CONSUMER, keep the
passion and never give up, get to know your retailers and build a long term relationship with them, they are
your business PARTNERS, all this and whole lot of work can create a "win win" situation.
What advise you have for New Craft Galleries?
Same advise as to the artists and also have great parking, packaging, refreshments, open as least 6 days a
week with at least 2 evenings, create direct mail, link up with upscale hair salons and spas and cross market
(great tool), don't nickel and dime your customers they will pay more for American handmade!
